Hordes of Zombies?
I decided that it was about time I bought myself a new spindle of CD-Rs, so I drove over to Best Buy and bought some. Then, after all this time, the massive California Lotto sign telling me I could win $99,000,000.00 that I drive by every day at work got to me, so I went to 7-11 to buy a lotto ticket. Since I haven’t eaten something in, like, twenty-four hours, I decided it was high time I ate something, so after 7-11 I planned to stop at Jack in the Box.
For some reason, the next signal down was out, and way out, no red flashing or anything. Then, I drove to Jack in the Box, and there was a car for sale parked in front of the drive through. I parked my car, despite lots of people around the Jack in the Box talking, and walked up. I got up to the side windows to see every employee just sitting around at the table. They turned to stare at me all at once. I mouthed the words, “Oh… Kay,” and turned and walked away. I noticed that the drive through was turned completely off, which made me note that all the lights inside were off too. I figured maybe they got shut down or something suddenly, like what happened to me years ago at Cinnabon.
I decided to drive to Rubio’s at the mall right up the street. The signal intersection on the corner of Jack in the Box was working just fine. I pulled in front of Rubio’s, and it was the same story. People talking outside, not a single light on at all. I didn’t even bother to get out of my car. Continued on down the way, same thing at the Starbucks. No lights.
The intersection in front of the mall was working fine. On the drive back past the intersection without the working signal, from a distance it looked like the signal was working again, so who knows. Very strange. I was waiting for people to start running and screaming about zombies chasing after them or something. Very, very strange.
