So, I totally wasted my two days off sleeping. I told Bill this.

I said, “I was asleep these two days more than I was awake, I think.”

He said, “That’s good.”

I said, “Not really.”

And that was that.

I went to Denny’s this morning and had breakfast because I felt like having a “real” breakfast. I was going to make myself pancakes but my pancake mix was full of bugs. I had the skillet all warmed up and everything. I could have cried.

I wrote in my journal at Denny’s, only after discovering that someone at work wrote in it as well, a page after my entry that looked almost exactly like this one (except better). I would quote it here but suffice to say it was very cheesy and lacked any sort of talent at all, to the point where the final line was a question, but lacked a question mark. You can sometimes pass those sorts of things off stylistically but not this time around, it was very bad. I have a feeling it was Ivan just fucking with me, but if I really want to be cruel to myself I can believe that someone was trying to tell me that my writing is trite and pointless. Oh well, I guess. Let the critics hang themselves on the details.

I’m sitting at Denny’s, diligently working through my french toast. The joy of eating is gone and now it’s the process of dutifully killing off the beast, leaving it with a little bit of life left in it would be needlessly cruel and unsympathetic. (I hand write like shit, I know).

I’ll never fully understand coffee, as it is served to me to quinch my thirst, but it is always served to me too hot. How am I supposed to enjoy it asap if I can’t drink it without burning my mouth off? Coffee is not a hydration refreshment. It dehydrates almost exclusively. Here, I will play art student and draw coffee.
