Guitar is Painful
The tip of my middle finger screams out in pain every time I hit a letter on the keyboard with it. Last two days have been heavy on the guitar playing, as Greg was here and I was drunk and drunkedness and a guitar go together pretty well, it seems. I’m actually probably going to take a few hours of sleep after I finish writing this up because the only thing I have to do really right now is play guitar, and that is so positively painful at this point that I swear it feels like the flesh on my fingertips will be splitting open shortly, if only to give birth to the Antichrist.
I found a good site for me with tutorials on how to play various easy songs. Horse With No Name is relatively fun, probably the easiest song ever. I kind of have the strumming pattern down pretty well, but matching tempo with the real song to the point of being able to sing it will take me a while I bet. The coolest song in this list has to be Johnny Cash’s cover of Reznor’s Hurt, which is supremely awesome as I am, as you know, a former Nine Inch Nails infatuation junkie, and Hurt is a perfect song for me to learn as I already have the words and pacing of the lyrics memorized. Pretty sweet.
