I said something to one of my friends a while back, maybe it was Greg, about how there should be a television series in which the main character does awful things almost continually and always gets away with them. It would be awesome. A few months ago it would have been based on my life, but not so much now.
I have a rather silly rant in my head, mostly because of the Xbox360 launch and a variety of other things that have been bugging me lately, especially since they are a reflection of how I once was and still am on occasion. I’ll just summarize it here:
Why the fuck are people such slaves to materialistic status? Some guy on OKCupid posted a message board post just announcing that he waited 13 hours in line for an Xbox360 as if that made him awesome. On another forum, this kid is debating on spending his savings, money he saved to buy a car and move out of his parents house, on an HDTV because he feels left out of the HDTV party.
What the fuck? I’m guess I’m just glad I have more brains than I have money, (though, with no money that isn’t hard to do), and can see that running out and buying a bunch of junk like that is a waste. Also, knowing that owning something super duper awesome expensive new doesn’t make me awesome for very long is pretty cool. I always used to get that, buyers regret. You spend more money than you should on something and then you realize it was a big waste of time…
I have two papers and a group project that I’m doing all on my own due over the next two weeks. This sucks.
yet, I’m sure you still wish you had your DS. dis!
