Just in case this reaches Google and finds someone:

I’m looking for Lisa Haney, an online friend I lost contact with years upon years (upon years) ago. When I talked to her she lived in Ohio. She should be something like 23 years old now. Her AIM screen name was Vevina2 at one point.

If anyone knows how to reach her, point her this way. Have her email me or something. (Email is on the About page, or at the footer of this page.)

A few notes on this for the curious: I’m usually pretty good at tracking people down online, usually with a minimal amount of information about them. Finding livejournals, old abandoned webpages, forum memberships they don’t even know they had, multiple screen names, current location information, things like that… I can find it all, usually just by starting with one scrap of information. This time, however, I have nothing.

The screenname Vevina2 only brings up my own website and a really old page for anorexia support (which dates back to about 6-7 years ago!). Searching for Lisa Haney on Google brings up relatively nothing outside of the norm (Cello player for Rasputina, and a lot of college basketball score charts etc), there’s two names with numbers that come up when appending Ohio to the end of it, but I don’t think I’m going to randomly call people until I find someone who can tell me what her original hometown in Ohio was (there is one person I can contact who might have more data on her that I haven’t). I believe you can usually assume potential present location based on hometown. I don’t think people at a young age are likely to move more than a certain distance away form their home town… Unless the move completely out of state of course, so at least that could narrow it down.

Myspace has nothing, which is usually where I try first since nearly everyone and their mother is on it. (Shit, my dad has a myspace account.) There is one girl in her age range, maybe a year too young, but really looks nothing like the Lisa I remember. I have not messaged her to find out yet, though. All the other Lisa’s are too old. Wish I had an old email address I could google/myspace for, but I don’t. That usually makes things a lot easier.

Livejournal has nothing. No account with that AIM screen name.

Google groups has nothing, though there is a “Don + Lisa Haney” who used to post in the depression groups which would match Lisa well, but they have an old page where they sold curly horses (??) and it reveals Lisa’s name to be Lisa Whittman, or something accordingly. That’s slightly baffling. Probably her maiden name, married into Haney, so that’s not Lisa.

Pretty crazy. I’ve never had this much trouble hunting someone down before.
