More About Lisa Haney

My post about my search for Lisa Haney has hit #4 on Google searches for her which is either a clear sign that my site has extreme Google influence or not that many people blog about the Lisa Haneys of our world. That’s pretty cool. But this isn’t about that.

(Correction: My site is only #4 for me, personalized search bollocks. For whatever reason, not sure how many pages it’s in, but people are getting here by searching for her, I swear!)

On April 11th, an old friend of mine and Lisa Haney’s found my entry and posted a comment, saying that he’s tried looking and hasn’t found. That was pretty cool, I had totally forgotten about that guy, too.

Today, however, someone with the name of “This is likely her” and an email address of “good@luck.com” posted an email address. I quickly shot an email off to the address and then decided to look further into this.

A Google search of the username of the email brings up three sites, all are reservations for parties (or concerts) in Atlanta, Georgia. The reservations are under ‘(removed)’ with no other information, and all of them seem to be reservations that were never responded to.

Notably the reservations seems to be for a group in Atlanta called the Peachtree Social Club. The IP address of the “good@luck.com” comment poster is from an ISP located on Peachtree St, in Atlanta. I’m sorry, but that is a strange coincidence.

(For those curious the IP address bears the mindspring.com name, which has actually been defunct as an ISP for 6 years since merging with Earthlink. I haven’t seen a Mindspring IP in a long time, though I guess the IPs, now owned by Earthlink, are still whois’d to Mindspring. The IP was also a DSL account, which makes it even odder to me that it bears the Mindspring label, since that is a new service… Just a tidbit, not any sort of clue or anything. Internet nostalgia mostly, since I remember when Mindspring was Earthlink competition.)

(Edit: Looks like Mindspring was founded in Atlanta. That’s pretty cool. Maybe Earthlink customers do business under the Mindspring name in Atlanta just due to customer loyalty? That would be pretty cool. Any Mindspring folks care to share some light on this entirely unrelated topic?)

Further searches of the email address and username brought up nothing until I headed to Amazon. I got a wishlist for a “Lisa L Haney” that was tied to that email address, but there was no identifiable information… no shipping address, birthday, etc. Disappointing, especially since I cannot recall Lisa’s middle name and cannot confirm if it did begin with an L or not.

I’m mostly curious as to why someone from Atlanta would anonymously comment the email address, when they obviously might know who Lisa Haney is, especially if she apparently lives in Atlanta herself. This person must know this Lisa Haney some how and, for some reason, is choosing not to just direct her to the post I made.

Very strange indeed.

Can’t wait to get a reply to that email. I really hope it is her, but I fear that it isn’t because I think clues that good don’t happen every day.

  1. Your post ain’t even on the front page son.

  2. [...] Turns out the Lisa Haney I was pointed to anonymously wasn’t the Lisa Haney I was looking for. Damn! Oddly enough that Lisa Haney did grow up in Ohio. Oh well. [...]
