The Second Time My Dress Catches Me Shit

• Tuesday, September 12th, 2006 • No Comments

This’ll be the second time I’ve had a marine talk shit to me. The first time, I’ve posted about before, but to rehash it: A guy in my health class a few semesters ago came up to me while I was wearing a khaki army (marine?) shirt with an infantry chevron on one of the [...]

Brick

I watched Brick tonight. Great movie. A classic film noir with a contemporary high school setting. Really good, if only for the dialog, which oozes with so much noir novel style that it’s unbelievable. Here’s a little taste of dialog.

See the Pin pipes it from the lowest scraper for Brad Bramish to sell, maybe. Ask [...]

Manderlay

• Thursday, September 7th, 2006 • No Comments

Tonight I watched Manderlay, the second film in Lars von Trier’s USA - Land of Opportunities trilogy. I’ve done this once before, but I’m going to do it again. A selection of things written by me from years past.

Six Years Ago – Sept. 4th, 2000

Interesting Conversational Tidbits Said By Stuy: “I’m sure once you get out of the clothes your inhibitions will slither away … (note: slither. like snakes. like the devil. [...]

The Claw-Demons Bathed In Brown

• Sunday, September 3rd, 2006 • No Comments

(Preface: I wrote this for my friend Greg. This is my take on Lovecraft, in a way.)

I know not why I am still alive to tell you this tale. At times, I wish I was not, for what I am about to disclose to you is inconceivable, not only to others, but to myself as [...]

Godliness

• Friday, September 1st, 2006 • No Comments

Last night I was reading about religion, and decided to look into my heritage as a Quaker.

I decided that I would wake up in five hours (it was five a.m. at the time) and try to hit up the college age bible study group of my former church. It meets at eleven a.m. at a [...]
