I started to get the itch to buy a Behringer TD-3 so I could make some proper acid on stream and managed to hold out long enough to realize I should just see if there is a good iPad version of the 303. And, sure enough, this Pure Acid app kicks so much ass. I’m kind of cheating in this set as I’m just using and abusing its randomized composer button.

This setup is pretty nerdy. I’ve got the SeqTrak sending midi clock sync to Pure Acid to keep them in sync. Then MIDI is going from the MPK to the SeqTrak and through to Pure Acid to help control both. Audio from Pure Acid is going into the SeqTrak so it’s part of its FX processing and even responds to the note repeat function. It’s hella cool.

I dunno how I spent so many years without going to revolving sushi place but I am so in love with Kura now. I can eat tuna nigiri until I am broke and dead in the ground.

Boy, you really gotta feel for Ed Zitron. Not a day goes by that he doesn’t become more and more wrong. Two months ago he was saying that “in a couple months” he would be dabbing over the corpses of all the AI companies, or something stupid like that, over on Some More News. Do you think anyone will have him on their podcast so he can do a mea culpa some day and admit that LLMs actually were very useful in the end?

I don’t think I am going to have a midlife crisis because I essentially had a long midlife crisis for most of my twenties where I did all the shit guys normally do during their midlife crisis. I’m immune! Now time to make some house music…

At a little over 50 hours, I saw the end credits for AC Shadows, but feel like I’d probably only completed half the content in it.

Above all else, the game was gorgeous and that made it mostly a joy to play. The story was basic but I’m kind of thankful for that after the bizarre never ending quagmire that was Valhalla. I don’t think I ever fully vibed with the combat unfortunately, there was something that always felt a bit clunky about it, and the moments I had to play as Yasuke, it felt extra clunky.

All in all, it was a good game and I’m glad I played it. I will probably keep playing it a little bit to finish up some side content for fun. We’ll see. I normally drop games quick once I finish them…

It really sucks to be pro-AI and pro-singularity and to also be a leftist, because leftists changed from being pro-tech to anti-tech as soon as fascists were able to use tech to control the narrative. Now, instead of trying to properly harness technology, everyone on the left is becoming anti-technology, and desperately anti-AI, to the point of being a bit delusional. You don’t have to hate technology to be anti-capitalist. You just have to fight to keep technology available to everyone, everywhere. You fight the capitalist corruption of technology! Why can’t we do that…
